I have a 55 gallon tank w/2 bala sharks 2,columbian sharks and 6 barbs. I see some people put salt in the water for the columbian sharks.
Hi Jason,
Adding salt to fresh water aquariums is beneficial as long as you are not trying to maintain live plants.

I have a green terror, firemouth, texas cichlid and a jack dempsey all all about 2". Will they be compatible as they get larger.
Hi Jerry,
It's always hard to predict the way fish will act as they mature. The Green Terror, Texas Cichlid, and Jack Dempsey may pose some problems as they grow.

I have a South American Red-tailed Catfish. Recently he started eating the rocks in the tank. How can I prevent this from happening?
He is a benthic species and will remain on the bottom for most of the day. He is probably not swallowing the rocks. They sift through the substrate looking for food. You are probably not seeing him spitting the rocks out.

Can I put mollies, guppies and bettas together. What can I put with bettas?
Hi Emily,
Betta's will nip at any fish that resemble them (fantail guppies)or get picked on because of their long finnage. Mollies should be ok, but Betta's are actually better kept by themselves.

I have a five gallon aquarium with a dragon goby, a black and gray finned shark, and a horse faced loach. I have multi-colored gravel with freshwater mixed with one tablespoon of salt given to me from the pet store recommended for the dragon's water. My dragon goby is starting to look abnormal. Part of his back fin looks flat, and his eyes which sat on top of his the other day are are now more hidden on his face and seem smaller. He is also coming up to the surface more and more often.

I recently bought a bala shark and some african dwarf frogs. Will the shark eat them? Thanks
No, it shouldn't eat the frogs. Bala sharks like to live in schools. Maybe you should consider getting a couple more bala's.

Can you put a spotted puffer in with cichlids?
In short, no. Puffers are aggressive with very sharp little teeth and they need to be in a species tank by themselves. Also, the puffer you're asking about is brackish and would need a brackish tank which would not work for the majority of cichlids
