  • Are limestone harvested from nature safe to put in a home aquarium?

No. There is too much of a risk that chemicals or pollutants have contaminated the rocks.

  • How much rock should I use in a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium?

You should use enough rock to create definitive territories and places to hide for the fish. If you have larger fish, make sure they still have room to swim.

  • I was wondering if you had any insight to suppliers of glass where I can get a good price.

You will have to check your local suppliers.

  • Do all-in-one skimmer/wet-dry filters offer enough biological filtration for a 55 gallon saltwater tank?

Yes. Just follow the manufacturers' recommendations regarding sizing.

  • I have been trying to find an acrylic aquarium thickness calculator. Can you help me out , building a 48x48x32 tank out of .5 cellcast acrylic . Does this sound all right? THANKS IF you do not know could you direct me to a good link

No. You are building a wide and tall tank and should use at least 3/4" thick acrylic.

  • I have added some live rock to my tank and now I have all this brown stuff all over the bottom and top of the rocks and crushed coral. My lights are on for 12 hours. Is this ok and if not, how do I control it?

Your live rock is still curing which increases the organic level in the water. You are leaving your lights on too long. You should have adequate current over the live rock to discourage the brown algae growth. Once you have some critters in the tank, they will stir up your substrate.

  • What can I do to break up aggression between my 2 goldfish?

Assuming your tank is large enough, you need to set up territories in the tank with the careful use of aquarium rocks, plants, or driftwood.
