Will a crowded aquarium cause fish to grow slower or faster than if the fishtank wasn't crowded?
Yes. Fish naturally release an inhibiting hormone which will retard growth to some extent. Other than that, the common byproducts of crowded tanks, less food and poorer water quality, will slow growth.

We purchased neons and mickey mouse platys thinking they were okay together. Our neons have disappeared. Are the platys eating them?
If the platys died, it probably was not due to aggression from the other fish.
