fish living near the surface, no jumpers!

I want to buy some fish to occupy the upper part of my tank. The other inhabitants are from the Amazon: cardinalis, rummy nose and cories. I would like to find some fish from the Amazon, living close to the surface, beside hatchet fish. :HP

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any fish from the Amazon that stays in the upper part of the tank that would co-exist with your present fish. The most famous Amazon fish is the discus and angels but they will wonder all over the tank. I believe the Arowana stays mainly in the top of the tank but I wouldn't recommend one since they will eat anything smaller than they are (about 47 inches full grown) and they need a very large tank.
