Hi all,
Just joined this forum, looks good! Anyhow, I'm having issues with my longnose gar pike. Recently she has been overfilling her air bladder, which causes her to rise to the surface and roll over. I've had to "burp" her twice (gently squeeze air out). This is the first time I've attempted to keep a gar and was wonder if I can get any pointers as to what my current situation is and are there any solutions. Has anyone experienced this? And finally, are there any other "gar" or "wild game fish as pets" enthusiasts out there that I can converse with?

Thanks,
Erin

I've only kept a gar about 3 weeks (I returned it to the store when they couldn't supply me with feeder fish.) so I won't be much help.

A google search for "gar aquarium" gave me 29,400 responses. WOW :) Searching for Lepisosteus osseus gave me about 2,320 responses.

These sites seem to have some info that may help you

I know that I saw a forum the specialized in gars at one point. Unfortunately, I did not bookmark it and have no idea what it was called.

I hope your gar is OK.
