We are newbies with aquariums. Our tank has been stable for a little over a month. We do not have a separate 'hospital' tank - and certainly not 2 extra tanks for 2 problems at the same time.
We have been treating the tank with Kanacin because several Neons, a Rosy Barb, and a Green Cory all developed Dropsy. After 2 cycles of medication the Neons look OK, but the Barb and Cory are not yet back to normal. Under control maybe, but not normal.
Q#1: Is there a better medication to use for the Barb and Cory?
I notice that one of the Neons is developing fungus.
Q#2: Can we medicate for the fungus and Dropsy at the same time?
Q#3: Do some medications work better for some types of fish than others? Not all medicines are labled the same way. Some have specific recommendations and some don't have any recommendations.
Q#4: Where can we find information about the kinds of medicine available? Anyone have a recommendation for a book that will help diagnose diseases and recommend treatments?
