Yes,i love those big ol mean cichlids,i could never keep anything else.Once i kept a Chocolate Cichlid,that was the mellowest fish ive ever had.:)

Do you have any specific questions or are you just trying to get all the information that you can get? If you ask specific questions then we can answer better. I have had a pair of dovii ( a breeding pair at that) that my ex-girlfriend gave away. That is one reason that she is an ex.

Well id like to know what is the minimium tank size that i can keep a Dovii in,is it possible to keep a Dovii with my Midas and Red Devil if they are all the same size,and will a Dovii eat pellets??:cool:

Yes the dovii willeat pelets and any thing else that will fit into his/her mouth. The dovii can grow to over 2 foot long (some say up to 3 foot long) so a tank of not less than 125 should do for a while then when the dovii gets some size on the size tank will not be big enough to house it and any other fish. There are exceptions to every rule but if you put your dovii in anything less that a 100 gallon tank beprepared to fing fish bodies floating. You might get lucky and find a mellow fish (and you can make them more mellow by turning down the temp). :FS
