The strangest thing happened today. 3 of my 5 Tiger Barbs started acting what I would consider "odd". They have started swimming stationary in 2 corners of their tank facing straight down. It's as if they are swimming towards the bottom but they aren't moving towards the bottom. Anyone else seen this?

I have three red tiger barbs and I have seen something similar to this. Mine seem to do it on a regular basis. At first I thought it was some kind of mating ritual. But, now I'm not so sure. I don't have any new barbs and I haven't seen any eggs, but something might be eating them. Check out my other post in the beginners forum titled "do a little dance...Make a little love." Do yours also occasionally swim on their side above each other with their fins spread wide? It almost looks like they are saying "look at me!! I'm pretty! Wanna get busy?"

This is the first time they've ever done anything other than what I'd consider "normal" swimming around the tank... I've had these barbs for about 6 or 7 months now and this is the first time I've ever seen this and they are still doing it all day long...
However I have a feeling we'll never find out why because no one ever seems to answer us... At least now I know where I can't get answers and can try other forums...
