I have a 50 gal tank with 4 goldfish in it. What other fish could we put in with them that would withstand the cool temperatures? Water temperature is around 68-70 degrees. Is there a type of algae eater that can withstand those temperatures?

Hi Lissa,
I at least wanted you to know someone heard your? :) I am not the formost expert  on gold fish and tank mate's. I do have few sources that I will check with and see if we can come up with Tank mates.

Goldfish should only be with other goldfish..Having a pleco in a goldfish tank is a very debated thing. Some plecos will suck on the goldys and hurt them.. Others will leave them alone.. I have a very small pleco in my 30 gal.. He is alot smaller then the fish in the tank.. 4 goldfish in a 50 gal tank is a great # to have in that size tank.. Most goldfish do really well with 10 gals per fish..Look into the other breeds of goldfish.. You may find one that really excites you into just having a goldy tank! :)
