Hi, :)
I'm new to this board. I go by Fantail Fantic. I'm setting up a 180gal aquarium to raise goldies in,:FS Ryukins, Moors, and Lion Heads. I'm wondering what type and brands to use for filtration. What are your sujestions?:HP

Welcome to the Forum! :)
We apologize for not getting back to you with an immediate answer.
Regarding the filter, it's best to go with a 2 medium sized canister filters or a large wet/dry filter with a large sump. Eheim makes good canister filters, but they're expensive. I heard that Fluval makes a decent filter for a reasonable price. Regarding Wet/Dry filters, you can pick any generic brands. The only thing is these will require a pump to return the water and some wet/dry kits do not come with a overflow box, so you may need to pick one up as well.

Thanks C E,
I have read that you can build a wet/dry. Any ideas on how?

I have never made any, but there is a lot of info on the net. Just do a Google search on "DIY Wet/Dry Filter", which should provide a few links.
