brackish water... what is it?

I have a brackish tank. I have heard differing opinions of what is and what is not brackish. I know that it is between freshwater (1.000) and marine water (1.021) salt content. I have been keeping mine at about 1.009. I have heard that it should only be at 1.003. Does anyone have an opinion/ experience with the right salt mix?

FW is normally at 1.00
BW is normally at 1.00 to 1.013
SW is normally at 1.013 to 1.03

So keeping your tank at 1.009 is fine.
