Hello everyone and thankyou for taking time to read me post. I was wondering if i could safely put some of my gold nuggets in my fish tank. (i come from long hisory of miners and smithers.)

Would this be safe?
And could i put some a peamouth fish in with my tropical fish? Because i can catch a peamouth easily and i like them.
Thanks

Gold is a very stable heavy metal and is one of the least susceptible to corrosion. However, gold nuggets are usually composed of 95% gold or less. Therefore it's the other heavy metals in the nugget that you have to worry about releasing into the water. I would not put a gold nugget in an aquarium. I would only trust 24 karat pure gold. Either way it would tarnish and you'd have to take it out and polish it all the time.

I believe peamouths are cold water species fish. It is not suggested to put cold water species with tropical water species.

Thankyou both Eddie and Tim.
I really appreciate the help and am sorry about earlier. I have a 15 gal tank not hooked up so i will probably get it running and put peamouthes in it.
Thankyou everyone.
