I would like to introduce myself, I am a 54 year young man about to retire from construction and start my own breeding program by building a fish breeding room of about 12 X 14 foot. I have been in the hobby for over 45 years and was the president of the "Bay State Aquarium Society" for over 20 years. My main interest in cichlids is with South and Central Anerican cichlids. I do know a lot about them but I'm not afraid to say that I don't know the answer to a question if I don't know the answer. There are a lot of aquarist out there to "pick our brains" so that you do not have to suffer the same mistakes as we have. So ask away and I (we) will try to answer your questiion(s). Remember that if you go into a hundred different aqukarium stores and ask the same question you might get a hundred different answers and they might all be right. But if you put bits of one with parts of another you mighkt be 100% wrong and wind up loosing your (pet) fish or other livestock. :)
