Well umm k i will tell you about he predicament that i am in at thy moment.

My tank sides were FULL of ALGAE. So my girlfriend decided to clean some of the top off. So the next day i went out and bought an algae eater and they also must have accidentally scooped up a little snail.

But now the tank is almost algae free from the two little helpers. So my question is, will this be a problem for the algae eater and snail? Since allmost all of algae is off of tank?? Hope you guys can help.

I am suspecting that it will be more of a problem for the snail than the algae eater.
Thanks for reading and for any help you may offer.

If there is not enough algae in the tank, you can always get them some algae wafers.

I think you can sink cut cucumbers down into the tank, too. Never tried it myself, but I've heard of it. Algae wafers are neater, though. And they don't get slimy.

It depends on what you mean by algae eater. Is it a Chinese or siamese algae eater, or a pleco, or an otocinclus, or . . . ? The cucumber won't work for most of them and if it does, zucchini is better -- more nutirtional. Depending on how large it is, it may still have algae to eat that isn't so obvious to you. Also, it may eat flake food if it is the kind that does. The snail will eat leftovers in the tank and will most likely be fine. Some algae eaters will eat the wafers, but all that I've seen like the shrimp pellets.

Ya i believe they will do just fine. I do have some algae wafers laying around. And if need be i will put cucomber in the tank. ( I talked to an algae biologist i know from work)

Thankyou for all your help. :AP
