I have a community 20 gallon with 6 tiger barbs, 3 gold barbs, 3 platys and a chinese algea eater. I'm not really sure what to do with the fry once they start to mature, and how long to leave them in the breeder, could i leave some in the tank with the others or am i already full? Thanks

Devin

You are definately way too full as is. If you release the fry into the main tank I believe that they will be eaten so you should probably move them into another tank for the time being until they are big enough so the other fish wont harrass them to death or eat them.

Thanks for the help. Should i seperate the female from the males so they don't breed? If they do, how big of a tank should i use to mature the fry. I'm hoping my LFS will take the platys.
Thanks again.

Most of the common live bearing female fish can bive birth at about one month intervals for up to about 6 months after they become pregnant once because they can stor viable sperm inside and cause themself to become lpregnant once they give birth to one batch. This is why if you are trying to breed for a specific trait you need to make sure that the females do not become pregnant by a male trhat is not desirable.
