OK - I give up.
The plants in all three tanks with UGFs have been doing great.......lots of root and leaf growth. Only problem is that the thread and brush algae are doing really well too!! Took me almost an hour to scrape that stuff off the discus tank. :eek:
After much research, I came to the conclusion that the waterflow through the gravel was carrying too much of the fertilizer into the water column. Sigh. :(
I just removed the UGFs from the gourami and discus tanks and will do the angel tank tomorrow. Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else has a UGF and wants to add live plants. It can be done, but save yourself some aggravation and remove the UGF first. ;)
