I will just do this shortform since its too frustrating to make sentences out of it.

1) Remainder of Texas Cichlid wrigglers eaten by parents
2) Salvini female almost died from male attacks (they are a pair and about 200 of their fry is swimming around watching the abuse. Female might die in hospital tank over night
3) My 5" Blue Dolphin breeder jumps out of tank, I luckily hear it and rescue him, hopefully there is no muscular/bone damage
4) I spill an entire 2l bottle of brine shrimp on my shirt (yuck!)
5) I tripped and landed on my laptop and now it wont charge.

Solid eh?

Go me.

Josh.

Female Salvini died

I am debating when I should take the male out since I dont want him to start beating on the babies. Babies are about a cm long |-------| and might be fine on their own. I am waiting for tank space to clear up before I move them into a 35g and another set of breeders into the 65g again.

Will have to see how the next week plays out before I move any anything around.

Brutal, the only thing left is for your filters to spray water everywhere, and then burst into flames

If you have time and can put some Dither fish in the tank like giant danios he will probably protect them without eating them. A lot of male cichlids are great parents. When you do move them I would not put them in the same tan k as he them might start to eat them or he might even take better care of them. On cichlids that were somewhat rarer I would take their eggs out and put themin with convict cichlids that had just spawned to have them raise the young of the toher cichlids. Convicts are great parents and even great adoptive parents.

That sounds quite interesting and a good idea with the convicts. However, my convicts are the most delinquint and agressive fish I have ever had. They are the white/yellow variety - do you find them different with temperments than the others? I am debating picking up some of the blueish striped ones instead.

Comments welcome.

Scientis think htat is is a way for conicts (and other fish that protect their young) to have more of their own babies survive,. by letting the young of the others stay on the out side of the goup and the preditors will take the others young.
