The other day I was telling someone about the joys of aquariums. Something I told him was that it almost seems as though the fish are secondary to the hobby. Most of the effort goes into creating this little environment that you have control over. It's like your own "personal" piece of the world. He couldn't understand how the old goldfish in the bowl from the fair could get so complicated. I added that being only a FW guy, I barely know the half of it.

Any thoughts?:UH

I agree. Having happy, healthy fish is my "reward" for getting the environment correct. I think that is what we all strive for - constantly tweeking the environment to make it a little more natural.
