Bought these a while ago but they werent labeled at the store.
They are semitransparent whith black, white and orange tipped fins.
Can anyone figure out what type of fish this is? (not the tiger barbs)

If those are really tinfoil barbs, then you should give them back to the LFS because those guys will grow too large for a 15 gal tank. Also, that bala shark will grow too large for the 15 gal tank. Minimum tank size for the bala shark are 25 gal or larger.

To me they look like some tetras I've seen before, but I'm not to sure.

Actually, balas need 70 gallons minimum.

Could they be Serpae Tetras? They certainly look like it.

Here is a site about them.

*buzzer goes off* EAAHH!! sorry, close but no tomato.
I had a school of these guys before. They are actually Pristella Tetras (Pristella maxillaris/aka x-ray tetra). Extremely hardy, like brick walls, and mine even spawned for me a couple times before i gave them back when setting up my african tank.

They get up to 2" in length, a fair size for a tetra.

Here are some quick stats:
http://www.timstropicals.com/Inventory/TetraSmall/PristellaInfo.asp

You can tell it isn't a serpae tetra for two reasons:
1) It isn't nearly as red as a serpae
2) The anal fin is not flat and elongated as a serpae's is. It is hooked like a pristella's.

Plus the yellow markings on the dorsal and anal fins were dead giveaways.

Are ya'll sure? To me they look like the Bleeding Heart Tetras:http://www.petsolutions.com/Images/100/39000.jpg
The only other one I can agree with is the Serpae Tetras.

Wow! So many fish that look alike! AMAZING!

I'm 100% sure they're pristellas. The caudal fin even has the red shading that pristellas do and again, the anal fin has the markings.
