Hey all,
I'm new to these forums but not new to the hobby. This is my biggest tank so far.I plan on making it a community freshwater tank. Forgot to mention, it's just in leak-check mode right now.
Here's a pic:

Hi there! Weclome to Aquarium Pros Forums!!!
Looks pretty awesome!! The only thing that I recommend right off the bat is 1.5-2 times the filtration for the capacity of the tank. What kind of filter set-up are you thinking about or have you purchased?

Crazy Red, looks like he has some type of wet/dry system under the tank. I wonder what the filtration capacity is for those type systems. ??

Yes, there is a wet/dry under there. It is an all glass model 2 sump. It has a rio3100 pump to return water. The thing barely fits in the stand. It probably holds about 10 gallons itself. It should be plenty for a medium-stocked tank. I'm currently working on the background now. I'm taking some pink insulation foam from home depot and carving it then paint and epoxy. Here's a pic of the piece that goes on the left of the overflow:

ALso, I bought a bunch of black sand for the substrate. The plants and fish should realy stand out. I bought several UV LED's that I will use to make a moonlight strip. (I got 50 of them, I will test to see how many I need.)

I replaced the drain hose with PVC because the hose would trap water and cause the inlet to "burp". The hose also contributed to a loud trickling water sound. This setup is MUCH quieter. Do you guys think this is enough filtration? There's room for a cannister under there, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. It's not the expense, but the maintenance I'm concerned with.
