This is my first time asking a question, and my first time in a "forum" or a chat room - but I really need help.....

I have a 75 gallon aquarium and have no problems with it at all EXCEPT - I have bugs.... I have three very large Parrot fish, and good employees, i.e. 2 sets each of cat fish, albino & bumble bee, and one large algae eater (about 10" long) and a smaller algae eater. My parrot fish lay eggs every month or so - I have two females.... the male never fertilizes them however - or at least not that I'm aware. In as much as I would love to raise baby Parrot fish, my problem is that I've had problems with gnats - or what appear to be gnats.... The bug eggs appear to just float on top of the water, and eventually hatch - fly to the glass top, and most of them die there. There are, however, several that get loose each day where the tank is open near the filter, and when I open the top for feedings. I know it sounds silly, but these gnats drive me nuts.... This particular tank is in my home office, so lately, I'm continuously being buzzed by the bugs. I have another 75 gallon aquarium, that is perfectly fine and bugless.

Our local aquairum dealer "does not have a clue" how to get rid of them, but I have noticed them in his store as well, so I suspect that is probably where I've picked them up - probably when I purchased my last algae eater from him.

I have no algae problems, I have clear water, I have very happy fish - can anyone help me?

Thanks
