I am new to this website so bear with me. I just noticed yesturday that I have baby moll'y in my 15 gal tank. I thought that I only had two babies in the tank but this morning i noticed that I have one more. I went o the store today and bought this net breeder. Its one of those where you just hang it over the side of the tank and the babies go inside of it. How do I know which molly is a male and which is the female? I have 4 moll'ys. One which looks fat. Should I put that one in the net with the 3 babies? I dont want it to eat them though.

how can i tell the difference between the male and females mollys? How do i know when they are going to have babies? how long do they go in labor for?

I also have 4 guppies, can i do the same with the guppies as i do with the molly's? Can i have more than 1 adult pregany molly'and orguppy in the net at the same time?

Thanks. I hope you understand.

oh oh oh,,, Ok, I belive I can help you with this!mollys are livebearer's you know that right? well if you dont, livebearers are like rabbits with scales and live in water, no joke... they breed like no other, do NOT put the mom in with the babbies as she will eat them, so just leave them in the breeder by them selfs and feed them crunched up flakes, crunch it up like powder... and to tell the male and female apart, the male will have 2 extra fins called the Gonopodium fins, thiks is a pic that will show you males Gonopodium fin... (im showing you guppies cause its easier to find on google, LOL)

oh sorry, I just re-read and forgot some... yes you can do the same with guppies and mollys, you will know they are preg. because the female with be REALLY big, like she is about to burst....
she will be preg. for about 30 or so days....
Hope this helps! :)

The Gonopodium forms a tube in the males, in the females, you can tell it's a fin.

Dimorphism usually doesn't occur after a few weeks, sometimes a month.
