Could somebody help me identify a catfish that I just bought. The store said it was a pectus cat, but it looks nothing like them. It looks like a shiny bronze, brown, or copper color. It's belly is alittle lighter. I've looked on the internet and I can't seem to find it. If anybody has any info, it would be greatly apprecated

How big is it? Is it solid? No dots, stripes, patterns? Shiny, as in irridescent? Need more info, but it may be a columbian shark. Although I don't believe they're bronze/brown, more silver. Or it could be an emerald corycat. They're supposed to be green, but I suppose in certain lighting it could look coppery. Give more info. What's its shape? Pointy head? whiskers? flat head? pencil body? bullet body? Good luck!

He's a little over three inches, no markings on his body or fins what-so-ever,his tail fin is shaped kinda like a bala sharks, his nose is kinda flat but not long like a shovel nose, he has 2 long whiskers on his top lip and 4 short ones under his mouth, he is very fast and shimmies across the top of the water, sometimes even raising his whole head out of the water.very active.

Have you checked on Planet Catfish (http://www.planetcatfish.com) yet?

The fish FB was talking about is here: Columbian Shark (http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=700) I'm thinking the same thing after seeing your revised description.

BTW if your bio is correct(with all those cats, parrot n convict) and you have 3 of these uknown catfish (all the same I presume) you will want a bigger tank eventually...if they turn out to be columbian sharks. They can grow up to 12". How long have you had your tank? Good luck!
