hi folks, ok heres my issue. Im usin greenex to get marine velvet in check. the instructions dont mention takin the carbon out of my filter, and i know some meds hit hard and are supposed to be filtered out by the carbon... yes or no do i remove my carbon.

it should tell you on the package how long to dose for.
with most meds you run them for a few hours, about, and then run a poly filter or carbon to remove them.

velvet is a nasty problem, that probably wont be cleared up by greenex or anything less than emptying your show tank of fish, and letting it run for 5 weeks.

as for the fish, hyposalinty is the best bet for ridding them all of the amyloodinium, but getting to the correct specific gravity may take too long.

citrated copper sulfate is actually your best choice.

both of the latter need to be done in the absence of inverts, and copper needs to be done in a seperate tank if you ever want to put copper-sensitive inverts in your show tank.
