I need a new lightiing strip for my aquarium. What I want to know is can I buy one from Home Depot or must I but from a LFS. LFS prices on the lights are 3 or 4 times higher than at Home Depot.

Be careful. While those Home Depot prices may seem like a good deal, those light fixtures are not waterproof and are not designed to be used near water. Many people have been electrocuted by arcing voltage from home-use light fixtures on aquariums. In my opinion it is NOT worth the risk. Also, the cool-white lamps that come with those fixtures are not suited for aquarium use.

Check out our light strip prices.

My recommendation for those lighting strips from HD or OSH or similar is to mount them under your cabinet so you can see , and look for accessories or items, in the dark.
