Found on this on a site, VERY SAD :(

I thought the nemo craze was calming down, but did any of you see the Early Show this morning? They were talking about "Finding Nemo". On it a 15 gallon bow front was presented while Carol Huntley Weber from Tetra placed in a Blue Tang, Two Clownfish, Two Seahorses, and a Brittle Star.

She also made a statement that implied that the fish for the hobby were farm raised in Florida. I don't have the exact quote but I am sure that someone can post it.

I am very disappointed in the Early Show and Tetra. I have written them both and I encourage you to do so as well.

I hope I'm not the only person this bothered, but I think we are all resposible reef keepers and what they did was NOT responsible.

For everything but the Blue Tang, she was probably right about them being tank-raised. Still, I hope she made a statement that the tank was too small for saltwater. Sorry I missed it.

ORA in Florida provides tank raised livestock. However, not every store sells them due to a premium over wild caught livestock.

Regarding her demonstration, it's community forums like AquariumPros that should correct any misconceptions of new hobbyist who think it's acceptable to house those fish together ...and especially to let them know it was not a brittle star that was in the movie

btw, you saw it here first

There are over 400 posts about this on RC, and we just received an email today from AMDA (Amercian Marine Dealers Assoc.) calling for a boycott of Tetra products.

We are having a meeting on Monday to decide whether we'll pull the product line. Frankly, I'm not sure that's going to do anything at all, as Tetra sells more than 80% of their products through Super pet stores like PetSmart and PetCetera, and the big online sources. Those sources will not boycott, so a few online dealers and LFS nationwide will not have much impact.
