Tufa Rock

I have found an incredibly cheap source of Tufa Rock, about a dollar a pound. I have also found it at .30 cents a pound but it is not as good as this stuff. This stuff is very porous with low iron content, pressure washed and the seller will try to accomodate you on size selection, porosity, etc... Any amount you want into the tons. It is from B.C. Nice rock!!!!

I used some in my first reef tank, as base rock. Does anyone know how well it compares to LR in biological capabilites (once established/seeded)?
