There is a good store for freshwater livestock on Mill, north of Southern called Pets Inc. All the tanks are clean and I did not see one dying fish in any of their tanks (a first for me). Although I have not bought fish from them yet, I will when I begin to set up my 80 gallon tank. Their selection was impressive. They have to be the best freshwater fish store in the East Valley.

Their website isn't impressive, but I will post it anyway:

They say they sell other animals besides fish, but it is a fish store at heart. And the best one I have been to.

Good to know... I live in the MESA are (zip 85212)
and there isn't much out this way, except the usual PetSmart and Petco.

When I was MUCH younger, there were scads of Local fish stores about, but I think when the "big boys" moved in, it killed them. It's a shame too, because a LFS tends to have the BEST quality fish and the "big chains" tend to have poor quality fish.

When I was in Junior High, I remember that the Petco on University and Gilbert had a lot of fish. Now it is just confined to a small corner in the store.

Pets, Inc. has the best selection in our side of the valley (if Tempe can be considered our side). Although I have been buying most of my fish from the PetsMart near Superstition Springs Mall.

When I get my 95 gallon set-up, I am going to try and buy my most of my livestock at Pets, Inc. I have not seen one dead fish in any of their tanks.
