I have just aquired 2 i inch calico orandas. btoh are missing both eyes but seem otherwise in good condition. i have them in a small 5 gallon with a penguin mini biowheel. i am not sure if putting them into a bigger tank would be a good idea or not because they might get lost in the tank they are the only fish in there and will always be the only goldfish. i will be moving them into a 10 as soon as i get my 80 set up and future when larger move up to my 50. they are eating well. also would i still need to leave the light on 12 hours a day if they cant see it. i adopted them from the LFS and already love them dearly. please give any other information on keeping blind fish.

yes, moving them to a larger tank is a good idea. Tank size has nothing to do with the eyes, and everything to do with the bioload and how much waste the fish produce and how much oxygen they need.

And yes about the lights, like us, fish absorb nutrients from the light, although you don't need to leave them on for 12 hours, 8-10 is good.
