Help!
I have a bubble eye goldfish that I have had since last Christmas. It has grown significantly since first purchased and so have it's bubbles. It doen't seem to be able to swim the way it used to. It's bubbles are soooo big that it struggles to get off of the bottom of the tank. Also because of enormity of the bubbles it is unable to get it's mouth to the bottom to suction food, and since it doesn't swim to the top to feed anymore it is only eating by mere chance.
Please advise.

I was just reading your artical on your poor bubble eye goldfish and the only thing i can think of is the water chemistry. What is your:
1.pH, gH, and if you can get it, kH
2.ammonia and nitrITe levels
3.nitrATe levels

The most important i would think for this situation would be the pH and ammonia and nitrITe levels. If there is a large abundance of ammonia or nitrITes in the water this might cause the bubbles to swell. The alkalinity and acidity of the water could also contribute (pH).
Hope this helps!
(P.S: in the meantime try to squirt some food towards it with a turkey baster.)
