red dot

Hey,
just wanted to ask a question- I found a red dot on the caudal fin of my oranda gold fish.. it is about the size of a mosquito bite... should I be worried that it is costia?

I would not be overly concerned about it unless it started getting larger. You might want to add some salt lto the water if you haven't already. Water changes can also help to get rid of any build up of nitrAte or plossibly any parasites that might be in the tank. When you do ;a water change make sire to vac the gravel to pick up any eggs of any parasites that might be in the tank and also to pick up any uneaten food (which contributes to sichness in fish) and fish manure which is not good in the tank. Or as I tell people that fish do not get out of the tank and go to the toilet so the only way to" flush the toilet" is to wav the gravel along with a water change.
