 i have a peoblem with a Magnum 350 canister filter........ after re-loading the canister with new carbon........ in about 2 hrs. the top section ( internally ) gets a space of AIR about 2 inches inside the canister filter.........some how the canister is sucking air in........i tried to correct it thinking that the O-Ring was not sealing.... by using some Teflon Tape around the O- Ring....... yet no diffrence.........?had to result into buying a Cascade 700......i wonder if any one has a solution to this problem......... thanks for any reply...... cwrenge.

this is all i found, not sure if its helpful
The Magnum 350 canister itself is made of brittle plastic as well as the valves and are fragile and easily cracked. I have had some problems with the canister lid seal leaking which could have been a serious flood! On investigation it is not the gasket that has worn but the metal clips that snap hold the lid on that need to be bent back in shape to maintain a tight enough fit.
Con: Sometimes the lid doesn't align exactly right to seal correctly. This allows outside air to get sucked in which causes the water level in the canister to decrease gradually, and noise results from the air pocket that forms inside. To fix this problem just turn off the canister, let it refill with the tank water by gravity, then open and reseat the lid.

:o I haven't yet to put this canister back on line... its on a shelf, collecting dust. i did do was to take teflon tape ( most welders/fitters know this stuff ) and place it in the O-Ring Seat... then the O - ring in place and attach the lid.... after about a few hrs. it still got air in the canister..... so its still a mystery to be solved.... thanks to you all .... cw.
