FULL ON RANT, i feel so sad more than mad.

Hey gang,

I was trying to setup a local fish rescue company to setup 10 gallon tanks and do all the maintance, they would just get to see the easy to care for fish swimming. I was planning on hospises and retirement homes, hospitals wont let me for natural reasons.

ANYWAYS, i made a group page on yahoo and i made the big mistake to include at the bottom, if you feel this forum has value please donate so we can better the board and make more space. It was to be a local thing.

Well i posted to the freecycle groups by mistake, and i got so much hate mail, i have given up my dream. without the freecycle sites i cant collect the small tanks everyone out grows. I was trying to put my path into action since i just took refuge friday before a monk.

I was not trying to make any money for me, just to pay for meds and i even offered to give them a reciept so they could get a tax break.

Everyone freaked, i got such anger thrown at me, how did i take a noble idea of making those close to death or stuck somewhere in a loney room a little happier with a betta or small fish like neons. I had been collecting smaller tanks and two 29 gallons that i was going to cycle and find a place to make storage and hospital tanks to bring them back to health then off they would go. I wasnt looking for free fish, i buy what i need,i dont beg for anything except info

My heart feels broken, all i wanted to do was help those in need and combine it with what i love. i cant store dogs and cats or i would them too! i respect all life, just a whole bunch of people around here dont like me because i tried to do something unheard of, sharing the magic of a fish in a tank, with those that really need relaxation and peace in their lives.
Some dont like me because my name is Buddha Red! comeon! when is the last time you remember a buddhist getting in your face about anything?

Sorry i will shut up, i am just so sad it turned out like this. My heart aches for all those with so much anger to throw at me, It will only hurt them, but i am sad about that also.

Man, what a bunch of jerks! So sorry that came back on you. Let's face it, unless you are a fish lover, you can't understand our passion. Even at home here, I can tell hubby thinks I'm nuts........of course, I think he's nuts for building a HO railroad layout, so we just tolerate each others hobbies! (sorry, went astray for a sec) I know there are a lot of people on the web that are trying to scam everyone, it's just too bad that a lot of folks assume anyone posting must have an ulterior motive. You should call a local news station and tell them what you are trying to do......if they air something, I bet you'd get a lot of help.

i think you are right. I will get my act together and follow through with it. heck no, i aint letting one angry bunch of people stop me from bringing joy of our hobby. I just do not understand people that have solid beliefs, i change mine with current info all the time. I could never assume someone would scam on fish, but you are right the internet are full of them. they get free stuff and they sell it.

You are so right, they dont know how passionate we are. I conc\sider it a wonderful tool to brighten up a sad room and having the company is always nice to go to sleep by.

i also want to include orphages also once im more together. I really want to give to the community my brand of good old fassion love. So many places i think of that really could need a service like that.

I hope someday to take aquariums where they havent been. I want to put a real face on aquariums and let everyone no matter the age how wonderful the fish can be for them. I know i will do my best to acidently jump all over the small bowls in the fish shops and smash them to pieces. naa not really, i just have issues with bowls, they are for eating not for keeping fish.

Yeah im a newbie, But i will never stop learning, i have changed my major to chemistry and biology.
there is no chance i will give up on my tank.

if the house catches fire, i grab my wife, my battery operated air pump and a 5 gallon bucket with all my fish in it., ill be back for the tank in a sec hehe

if enough people see the real side, not the death tanks of the 70's all algae covered and ugly water.
See how they are really are their own lifeform with habits,personalities and behaviors.

Im going to start stopping people and make them look at pictures of my cown laches then tell me fish are not smart and CUTE!. They re-do my substrate. some days its flat, others they make waves in it.

I'm sorry you had this problem Buddha Red. Some people are so leary of the internet, the scammers and spammers have nearly ruined it for everybody. We're behind you all the way. If there's anything we can do to help just let us know. I say take your cause to the media. "The squeaky wheel always gets the grease."

contacting local pet stores is a great idea. we all know they get offers all the time to trade or take in the 'tankless' orphans when people move or get tired of the hobby. stay the course a little longer, i think.
(if you decide to utilize a cape in your costume, be careful through doorways. looking forward to seeing your story on CNN.) ha!ha!

I love that. Yall are so wonderful. The way we all treat each other is how i grew up, help anyone you can with anything you can. Its just a shame that way of life has been squashed by ruthless people trying to steal what they can't earn.

I will use every one of yalls ideas, and dont thi k i wouldnt make a costume with a clown loach on the front and a red and yellow outfit WITH cape hehe

Get me a small truck and paint it red and yellow (my favorite colors) and call it the buddha mobile! dannanana buddha red! as he drives from the buddha cave to right the injustices of fish everywhere!!! i can see it now, the buddha red spot light in the air, charlie my rat terrier sounds the alert and to the buddha cave i go!

I bet people would flip over that if i did. Sure would catch attention, any attention is good i suppose when trying to do something kind.

By the way, i quit every one of those greedy groups and starting to make my own called texas traders and one called aquarium traders, a email based forum where people trade, swap, haggle or give away whatever they wish( not limited to texas actually, if you wanna ship to someone thats their business). I just cannot stand seeing so much unhappiness in the world.

Sure i want alot of money, but my heart is never set on money first. I am an amercian with bills to pay so yes i have to value money but never at the cost of another ones feeling.
