not my auction but this stuff is So needed by us plant nuts. LOL i ditched the silk idea for a while. i am growing some apaogens, water wysteria and anubis nana.

I have introduced snails and once black algae which killed 95% of my plants, had to cut them down, simply because i did not take precautions and clense the incomming plants.

go on ebay and the guy is selling 4 oz for 9 bucks including shipping. i bought some jut in case hehe I know its cheaper than that IF you can find a lab that actually sells the stuff. BTW i don't even know the person hehe just bought it from them.

Dude, I am friends of the head of the science dpt. at school and i am going to see if I can buy some, but it is a controlled substance cause it is TOXIC to the max.

yes it is, thats why us plant folks use it to rinse our plants in before the normal rinsing. it kills all the terrible stuff that plants usually supply to our tanks.

IT IS NOT a tank additive. please know that everyone.

I meant it is TOXIC TO HUMANS. Keep in mind that it will kill illnesses, and needs a longer bath to kill snails.

I don't care about snail prevention, i am worried about black algae or other things i cant see. I know its toxic, i use correct scientific procedures when handling chemicals which have toxic properties.

i use medical latex gloves, Rinse the plant in the chemical, then i rinse three times which is the operating procedures for exterminator bottles after use. I was an exterminator so i know how to use and store chemicals. I now open the plant packages from eBay in the kitchen and open my "plant kit" and start my procedures. One container is only used for this procedure, nothing else what so ever.

Trust me, plants carry way worse stuff then snails, That's what i am worried about. EBay is horrible about that. Rarely do you find plant sellers that are safe and use this chemical to protect their customer's. i treat all plants like they are infected. I couldn't see the black algae but i caught it from a plant and its a horrible thing to catch. its common in pool areas but in an aquarium it is really bad, 90% of my plants were cut back, and i had to run erthromycin for 1 1/2 weeks to make it go away. All the pro's told me i had to start over from strach, which would have knocked me out of the aquarium hobby. I freaked and cried all the time until the good people from here calmed me down.

I had to start a mini cycle, but none of the fish were affected. It was much better than selling all my fish, throwing away all my 80 pounds of black sand and everything in the tank, wash everything with bleach water then put it all together like it was one day old.

Ain't gonna happen if i can treat it logically. As you can imagine, i treate new plants like they are radioactive.

(snails have no chance, i have a botia tank)
besides you can see snail eggs and a rubbing and rinsing will solve that problem. I had to clear my latest plant of snail eggs and snails before i could add it to my tank, It was infested with snails, but visual inspection usually detects that. I rub and rinse to remove them.

i really wan't to thank you though, you are looking out for me and the gang and i really appreciate it. Saftey is always number one Do not let aquarium chemicals touch bare skin. Treat every chemical like it will kill you. That creates a saftey zone since most of our chemicals are not dangerous. Be safe gang, do not treat this or any other chemical lightly.

Thank you Sir :AP

Great to know, My plan is a fully planted aquarium for a south american natural setting for neon tetras.I will need to treat the plants first, plants at strores look like crap. :(
