Just bought a new 25 gallon aquarium. Filled it up with water and turned cloudy & yellow after 1 1/2 days. Someone suggested that I empty it because aptarment water is rusty!. Did that & bought 60 litres of natural spring water....waited two days again. Finally got some fish...Was recommended Tetras to start. Water is now cloudy/foggy again. What am I doing wrong??? Any advice?? This is what's I have. Aquaclear power filter...I've put in Aqua Plus, Cycle & Waste Control (All came with aquarium) & of course a thermostat....I'll be checking the board frequently to hopefully get some help on this...Should I buy a "neutrilizer cube"? Or is it just a waste of money? HELP! I really want this to work for me.

Thanks a BUNCH! msroses.

sounds to me like you are suffering from what is commonly known as "new tank syndrome". to learn more about this you can read the following article: http://www.bestfish.com/breakin.html and/or do a web search at google.com for "new tank suyndrome". also, other than just adding water, did you use any water treatments? such as stress zyme, chlor out, etc., or check for proper ph?

I would highly recommend adding an undergravel filter. Our thoughts and opinions of using a power filter as the only filter on an aquarium are well-known, and we admit we are over-cautious, but in every case we've ever seen like your's, the only filter on the tank was a power filter and after adding an under-gravel filter, the problems go away, so we have hundreds of cases that have proven us correct.
