Hopefully somebody can enlighten me on this. I have been struggling with this problem for awhile now. All my water parameters are in the norm. My mushrooms are growing like wild fire. My anemone which is about 5 months old is starting to loose it color, becoming a pure white. I just added Star Polyps & Anthellia Polyps 6 days ago. In 3 a day time the Anthellia Polyps died and now the Star Polyps are not open at all today. The reason that I suspect I have a fungus is because in my LS I have these patches of bright green areas. The bright green area is like I put food coloring in the sand. I tried scoping the sand out no good, it just comes back. If I let the areas grow eventually little air bubbles will form on top of them. I done massive water changes and this have not help! I really hope somebody knows what this is.

What typy of lighting do you have? What are your phosphate and nitrate levels? The green patches you have are most likely algae. If your anemone is loosing its color, it sounds like it is slowly fading away. (loosing or losts its symbiotic algae. They do not show signs of problems until it is usually too late.)

Will your anemone still eat or catch brine shrimp when you feeding? Will it stick to you (assuming your anemone is not a type that can sting a human...) if you touch one of the tentacles?
