I appreciate that very much but . . .

We can get Kent Salt but have been reluctant to do so because of the huige cost of adding it to our product line. Kent Marine salt is actually Instant Ocean Reef Crystals with some extra calium chloride and other elements added.

The Coralife salt we sell has been doing very well for us for many years and has proven very fast-dissolving and maintains a good pH. It too is not made by ESU/Coralife. It is made for ESU by TropicMarin according to the formula developed by the owner of ESU, who is a chemist. In fact, Kent, Red Sea, Coralife and Sea Chem do not make their own salt. They use companies to make it for them that already own the expensive machinery.

Unfortunately, unlike many other products, selling another brand of salt requires us to buy it by the skid in order to compete with others who sell it online, which would mean an investment of several thousand dollars. The best price I could give you for a 200 gallon bucket if you want to order it from us would be $44.99 (of course that does not include your moderator discount) and I'm sure you could do better.

If however, you can drum up enough interest in bringing in that salt, please let me know, and I will give it some serious consideration. We just spent almost $40,000.00 to bring in new products for the web site in Nov./Dec. including those Iwasaki MH lamps you folks like, so we have to do some serious selling online to get more capital, but if I get enough requests, I'll be happy to carry it.

actually... $45 is about right... im pretty sure thats what we paid last time i ordered it online.... if you wouldnt mind getting a bucket of it for me, ill take it.

the reason i dont use coralife is cause ive heard of ppl not being able to keep their alk up above about 8 and its difficult to bring it up with kalkwasser or alk buffer... im trying to keep mine at 12 in all my tanks.

thanks
