Demasoni (pronounced day-ma-soe-nee, or duh-may-soe-ny)
Pseudotropheus demasoni

Origin: Pombo Rocks, Lake Malawi, Africa
Size: females-2.5-3" males 3-4"
Maturity: 1.25"
Tank size: 30 gallons or larger
Temperature: 74-82 degrees F
pH: 7.8-8.8
Temperment: peaciful if kept with fish of different markings. Is very aggresive towards it's own kind.
Single or group? Keep one or several in a single tank. Two can be kept in the same tank if there are hiding places at either end of the tank. Generally get along better in larger groups though.
Food:Herbivore, feed algae flakes and other vegetable matter. Brine shrimp can be given at fry stages to encourage growth. If fed too much protien rich foods demasoni can get malawi bloat. (http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/malawi_bloat.php)
Experience: Not a fish for an inexperienced aquarist. It is somewhat delicate when experiencing stress.
Different mutations include the pombo rocks demasoni and the moonlight demasoni.
