need help in saltwater tank

Ok I have a 125gal. freshwater up and ruuning for 7month. I was deciding on a freshwater planted tank until I was given 100lb+ of fugi live rock. I have a we&dry filter, arg.sand, uv sterliizer, compact light. I calculated it will cost me more start on a planted tank then saltwater. I had read that it best to do all fish or all reef tank. It not best to combine the two. Do I have to go thru the tank cycle process again. Is it time consuming in saltwater.

Yes, you will need to change your water and let it cycle again.

You do need to cycle again with fresh salt water mixture, how long varies on the live rock and sand you have..I.E any die off etc etc if it has not been kept in saltwater since you were given it mate..It can take anywhere from a week to over a month for the cycle to complete..

You "can" have a mixture of both fish and corals ( Reef ), you just have to research the fish you want, to make sure they are reef safe...
