I have had a CO2 setup (Red Sea CO2 system)for a while now and I am just finally figuring out the proper fertilizers I need to grow my plants successfully.
I have been using the pH-KH-CO2 relationship to calculate my CO2 but from what I can see, my CO2 concentration is quite low and nowhere near the optimal range.

I have: KH 70 ppm ~ 3.92 degrees
pH 7.6

that equals < 5 mg/L CO2 going by the CO2 chart
It says optimal range is between 15 and 25.
I would like to increase my CO2 levels and I feel that i need to lower my pH in order to do so...

so my question, How do I increase the CO2 concentration in my tank?

How are the plants doing? If they are all growing nicely, then why worry about it? Especially if you are still working on the optimum fert dosages/timing. ;)

The plants are doing Ok...
They are all covered in a thick amount of algae, even the new leaves have algae creeping onto them.

Three options might help you here on the CO2....

1. Add another set-up (DIY)

2. Switch to pressurized

3. Supplement with Flourish Excell

That's really the only way to get higher CO2.....pressurized is your best bet, but it has its drawbacks.

I just have another quick question to ask...

In Theory, if my pH was lower, and KH remained the same, would that mean I had and increased amount of CO2 with the current DIY setup I have now?
