is it evil of me to be bored with my Dempseys and want to get rid of them? they really have never given me any trouble (other than killing off all my other fish) never been sick, layed eggs a couple of times but they never fertilized. I think they don't do much cuz the tank they're in is too small for them (55G) but I am not able to purchase a larger one right now. would it be bad of me of give them up?

IMO, if you think you can find a shop that will take them and find a better home for them, then no, that's not bad. ;)

i think that that's what I'm going to have to do after all. turns out we're moving soon and I don't know if there will be room for them in the new house. i was actually hoping to give them away to someone I knew would take care of them correctly. my last resort will be a store. there some novice might think they look "cool" buy them with no clue as to how to care for them. so if anyone wants two Dempseys, contact me please :)

You might try craigslist or Freecycle in your area. I have gotten many tings on Freecycle and I also got a breeding pair of angelfish on craigslist for free because they wanted them to go to a good home. The people even brought them to my house with no cost to me.
