BAD NEWS!
Health Products and Food of the Health Canada Ministry have sent letters to various pet shops and suppliers to tell them that they can no longer "import, advertise and sell unapproved veterinary drug products in Canada i.e.; MelaFix, PimaFix, Super ICH Cure, Quick Cure, Maracyn etc…"
The Health Canada government site is; http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/ShowFu...27//20070610/en
This will have an effect on aquarists across the country not just locally. I can fully appreciate that the antibiotics would be controlled but am very upset/surprised that “PimaFix” and “MelaFix” are also going to be halted. The health of our aquariums is being put in danger by this action. We need to send letter and/or e-mail for our MP’s in the federal government to demand answers and alternatives. :HP
I have spoken to my local Veterinarian office that would be more than happy to order anything I need but will not be stocking any aquarium supplies on their shelves. It would be in ones best interest to find a Vet locally who is also willing to do the same for you wherever you are living.
