Has anybody planted Lobelia cardinalis commonly known as Cardinal Plant/Flower? I'm considering it for my 340 gallon public aquarium since it's a native plant and we have it growing wild in our large native plants pond. From what I've read it's a pretty easy plant to take care of and very tough. My question is what would be the best way to plant them? My gravel is rather large so I was considering placing them in baskets with smaller gravel and burying those in the larger gravel. Any thoughts on these plants?

I know nothing about them, but it seems that they shouldn't be hard to take care of given the right lighting and nutrients. Here's a page with a little (very little  ) information: http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=150

Thanks for the reply. I've visited that site and I agree the information is sparse. Again, thanks.
