Does anyone know what the white spots are on my glass? They look like very tiny snails. But I can't figure out what they are. Someone told me they are tiny feather dusters but i am not sure if they are parasites?
Got a pic? Could be anything. My guess with no pic could be snails or flatworms.

probably are small featherdusters
without a picture or VG description, white spots could be anything; 'pods, feather dusters, snails, etc.
How long has your tank been setup? How much live rock do you have and how long has it been cured? What type of substrate (and its granularity) do you have?
IME, tanks with lots of rock and very little substrate will tend to produce small specks on the glass. Some are good, some bad. If it clings to the tank, its good, if its on the fish, its bad.
Have you recently introduced any fish without quaranteeing (sp?) them before these showed up?
Do a search on past posts with the term "white spots" for other similar questions/suggestions.

I have about 15 Lbs of live rock. But the only thing I can tell you is that they are very small and that they are shaped like a snail with very little hairs showing but I have a feather duster and it looks nothing like the shape. I also had the tank running for about a month and a half. I really do not have any more information.
Thanks for your reply.
Could be the some mysis shrimp or 'pods (good things).

i think alf hit the nail on the head,
If it is motile, its probably a tubeworm (white speck, under a mm in diameter, sort of 'slimes' around the glass, movement is almost negligible)
if its immotile, its probably a snail larvae. a nerite. most likely.
what kind of snails have you seen (look for hitchikers as well)
if it scurries and looks like a flea, its probably a copeopod or amphipod. """ and looks like an armadillo :D, its probably an isopod.
