quick and easy substrate question

This is probably going to sound stupid but, does the flourite soften into a clay mush at the bottom of the tank or does it retain a gravel like form? Ive looked on the internet as well as forums and can find no mention of this.

It will eventually turn to silt. If you rinse it too much, you'll end up washing most of it down the drain. ;)
