Last night while doing the nightly fish check, my boyfriend noticed a wierd, cream colored pod hanging from the plastic dry part of the tank. I looked at it and thought it was bubbles, that had maybe formed or something, but he got a q-tip to pop them and it was hard and slimy!!
He poped it down and took it into the bathroom to investigate (normal boy lol) and when he touched it it was so slimy, he said "google snail eggs"

did you guys know snails are both boy and girl??? or at least mystery snails. (btw, it was snail eggs) aparently they will reproduce as much as possible!? well i dont want tons of baby snails in my tank.. is there a way to... prevent them?? lol maybe make my snails sexdrive go down? lol i dont know!

Oh and my boyfriend flushed the pod.. could the babys still hatch in our septic system?? i lost sleep over this last night.. the idea of waking up to a toilet full of baby snails is just too much for me!!

Just removing the egg sacks will prevent babies from showing up in the tank. ;)

Mystery; snails will lay their eggs out of water but over it so that the babies will drop back into the water when they hatch. If the snail egg case (of mystery snails) is completely submersed, they will not hatch so flushing them down the toilet will not let them hatch.
