Hi All,
I have a first time situation with my 20 gallon tall tank. It is an established tank about 8 months now which currently has 3 guppies and 15 fry in the tank with one ottocinclus and 1 clown pleco. I do a weekly 20% water change/ gravel vaccuum. I clean out the filter (Whisperer 20) every 2 weeks and change the cartidges every 3 weeks. Just a month ago I started noticing an odor from the tanks water. It is a fishy smell and I have tried the following so far to correct it.
1) added a small sponge filter with carbon in it.
2) added to filter and small mesh bag of carbon.
3) reduce feeding by 25%.
But the smell comes back about 3 days later after I did this and the water change. Oh one more piece of information I have had all 5 of my neon tetra's die in the last 3 weeks on me.
I hope someone can help? Thank you
