We bought a 120 litre juwel tank yesterday and we are not really sure what to put in it and when to put them in. It is full of water and the heater and filter are up and running. We've put in a few plants and a treated piece of driftwood.
We really want fish that look interesting - but also a variety of sizes. There is so much information on the net and in books - I am a bit confused and overloaded. Also - I want my fish to be healthy and lots of places say that you should have gravel and not sand - well, we have 'marine sand' which is quite chunky looking sand which was also quite expensive - is this okay?
Please help!
Also - if anyone knows a good fish supplier in East Anglia or London - we'd be interested. I wouldn't want to buy my fish in the shop we got the tank in!!

Are you wanting a Freash water or a Marine setup??

We thought that our tank was too small for a marine tank and that a freshwater community would be best to start with. Is this right?
We have been reading a bit today and have come up with the following:
Blue gouramis
Tiger Barbs
Black mollies
Redwag swordtails

Actually that was a direct steal from the book! But it looked like a good idea.
What do you think?
Thank you.

Well if my convertion is right you have a 31 Gal tank. I have marine tanks smaller. But for the begginer i suggest a min. of 55gal. If you going with Fresh Water enviroment, The fish you have Listed should do fine together. But others may have comments. I see no reason you could not use the sand. But there again others may have comments. I do not keep up with the FW side as much as i use to and I only breed Livebearing fish.HTH
