Rainbow Lifegard offers Mechanical Filters in three sizes. Single capacity filters feature the
Lifegard exclusive combination mechanical/chemical cartridge with
replaceable 20 micron filter pleats. The internal carbon chamber can hold
3 oz. (86 grams) of Lifegard Pelletized Activated Carbon or other media.
Carbon can be easily rinsed while inside the chamber. Double and Triple
capacity feature mechanical
cartridges only. Water is forced through the filter pleats under
pressure, trapping particles from 20 micron down to 5 microns.

Standard modules are equipped with
1-1/4" slip by 1" slip fittings and include bushings to reduce to 3/4" FPT that must be glued in if needed. It may be adapted to fit
any size plumbing up to 1" using reducer
bushings. T-Series Modules are fitted with 3/4" FPT Fittings.
Lifegard
modular filters are easy to assemble using standard
PVC fittings which we sell online. Any combination of modules can
be strung together to form a complete filtration system. These systems can
be run by an external
water pump. Many hobbyists use modular filters in the return line
from their aquarium reservoir for various applications.
