The Red Sea Berlin Classic originally set the standard by which
all other skimmers are measured. The original triple-pass design optimizes
the contact time between air and water by length of contact. The
telescoped tubes of the Berlin allow for a long contact time as the air/water
mixture moves up and down the triple pass design.
The traditional venturi injector allows for a massive influx of fine bubbles
while creating a turbulent storm in the bottom mixing chamber. This
"Classic" venturi driven skimmer can be operated from an external or
submersed pump for increased design options. The ozone resistant parts,
optional carbon air filter above the collection cup and air return skirt that
ensures that no air bubbles return to the aquarium, make these models ideal
ozone reactors.
The
patented technology (developed by the Julich Research Center of the German
Institute of Technology) incorporated into the Red Sea Berlin Skimmer has
resulted in a unique, compact design that is more effective than skimmers twice
the size, removing low concentrations of protein that other skimmers can’t. Features Include:
